Abstract
2016 was an anniversary year – 70 years since AGH professors L. Szklarski, M. Jeżewski, Z. Kawecki and J. Stachurski started developing the Polish method of Magnetic Flux Leakage techniques (MFL) testing steel-wire ropes. This year also marks 40 years of personal contribution of Ro¬man Martyna in the area of the development of Magnetic Rope Testing (MRT).The latest advances in electronics and information technology has been implemented to LRM-NDE steel wire rope tech¬nology, which has led to the innovative LRM®XXI Rope Diagnostic System being utilized by numerous national and international evaluation experts. In this paper the wire-rope testing requirements under different conditions as well the advancement of the proposed system are presented. The outworked hardware and software solutions improves the possibility and accuracy of proposed MRT method of testing steel ropes. The software gives users the new possibility to proceed rapid analysis and present test results, which are shown on the computer screen in real time. Finally the inspection of various large constructions is presented and discussed.
